Desert Harmony Festival - 26 August to 4 September

Get into the festival spirit with a visit to the 22nd Desert Harmony Festival. Proudly presented by Barkly Regional Arts, the festival celebrates the region’s thriving and vibrant cultural mix of Indigenous and non-Indigenous artists, musicians, dancers and writers. Audiences are invited to come on a journey to the heart of a unique remote community with several extraordinary events, including singer/songwriters Shellie Morris and Warren H. Williams, and Indigenous dancers showcasing traditional dance in DanceSite 2011 (presented by Artback NT). Most events are free and locals and visitors are invited to experience this wonderful festival event through youth performances, music, films, a multi-cultural dinner show, circus workshops with Circosis, a regional art market, poetry readings and a massive community photography project called Barkly Captured.
