JOE ROBINSON
Joe Robinson began playing the guitar aged ten and one year later began playing professionally (aged just eleven). It soon became obvious to many that a musical prodigy was in their midst. Initially inspired by Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana and other players of that era, Joe then became interested in jazz guitar, teaching himself from the Internet. Joe’s natural ability to play guitar usually seen in seasoned professionals twice his age attracted the attention of many of Australia’s guitar greats, including Tommy and Phil Emmanuel. With the guidance and support of such renowned players, Joe (now 16) has established himself as one of the most promising artists ever to emerge from Australia.
Joe has performed alongside some many of Australia’s finest musicians, such as Phil Emmanuel, Tommy Emmanuel, Muriel Anderson, Michael Fix, George Washingmachine, Chain, Stevie Wright, Billy Fields, Normie Rowe, Gorden Rhytmeister, etc.
Fresh from a launch at Sydney legendary basement jazz club, Joe's debut album, “Birdseed” is receiving critical acclaim, and being played on the east coast’s top radio stations. The hype was such that a showcase for Sony/BMG was ordered within 24 hours of its release.
Joe embarked on a USA promotional tour in September 2007, where he sparked major interest from Universal and Sony/BMG, as well as meeting with the bosses of ASCAP, BMI, Aristo Media, Ten Ten, Universal South, Universal Publishing, and Chrystalis.
Joe will return to Nashville in August 2008 to record his long awaited second album with renowned producer, Frank Rogers. Frank has worked with artists like Brad Paisley, Alison Krause, Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers!
Joe endorses Tomkins Custom Electric Guitars, Maton Acoustic Guitars, and GHS Strings.
